HOW IT WORKS

WE DID THE HEAVY LIFTING BY DESIGNING A 40HR CURRICULUM THAT COVERS THE HIGHEST-YIELD STEP 1 INFO YOU NEED TO KNOW

YOU LOG ONTO A ZOOM MEETING WITH THE GROUP & DR. PAUL FROM 10AM-NOON CENTRAL MON-FRI.

TOGETHER WE’LL DO 1HR OF SUPER HY DRILLS, FOLLOWED BY 1HR OF SUPER HY PRACTICE QUESTIONS, FOCUSING ON A DIFFERENT SUBJECT EACH DAY.

THE SPECIFICS…

THE CURRICULUM

The curriculum we designed is based on the USMLE’s outline of testable content. A session runs in a 4-week cycle, with a new topic being covered each day. Though we work in a 4-week cycle, your registration gives you unlimited access to the program until your exam.

DAY-TO-DAY

Our goal is to help you master the high-yield info that you’ll need to know to pass your Step 1 exam. Each morning you’ll log in to the meeting (links provided via our private FB group), and we’ll spend 1hr doing a rapid-fire drill session covering the info from the previous days’ practice questions. We’ll spend the 2nd hour of the session going over a carefully selected group of questions designed to cover highly testable content. During this hour, you can choose to participate 1-on-1 to get more hands-on feedback about your test-taking skills; you can also sit back and observe if you prefer.

OFFICE HOURS

Once per week, Dr. Paul holds office hours so you can get advice about your current situation. If you need advice about study strategies, when to schedule your exam, or anything else relating to your exam preparation, you can use this opportunity to get your questions answered.

FAQs

Does This Include A Study Plan?

The main program doesn’t come with a study plan, however, you can purchase an ‘add-on’ on the registration form at the bottom of this page to meet Dr. Paul for a 45-minute 1-on-1 session after you register. During this time, you can work together to create a study plan.

Can I Start Any Time?

Yes. You can join any time you like. We do work on a 4-week schedule, however, you can join at any time and still benefit from the way we’ve structured the program. After we’ve covered a full four weeks, we’ll start back at the beginning, ensuring you will be able to cover everything no matter when you join!

What If I Need More Personalized Help?

If you have specific needs you’d like help with, you have a few options. If you’d like a personalized study plan, you can book a pre-session 1-on-1 consultation with Dr. Paul. If you have random study strategy questions you’d like help with, you can visit the weekly office hour sessions (Monday evenings). If you want to work with someone 1-on-1 each day in addition to the 2-hour group sessions, you can add the coaching option to your registration. (Note: Adding the one-time 1-on-1 with Dr. Paul or the daily 1-on-1 coaching can be done on the registration form at the bottom of this page). Learn how 1-on-1 coaching works HERE.

What Separates This Program From Others?

What makes our program different is that we’re aiming to help you fill in the gaps that typically cause students to fail. Many students feel as though they need to sit in class all day long to prepare for their USMLE Step 1 exam, however, we’ve recognized over the years that this is counterintuitive. The majority of your progress will come from quiet study, but deficiencies will likely still exist. Working with us for a couple of hours per day will help you identify those deficiencies and fix them as quickly as possible. Most programs focus on content review; we focus on making you a stronger, more prepared test-taker.

How Does This Program Fit Into My Step 1 Prep?

This program has been designed to give you structure and support as you prepare for your exam. The way to think about our program is as a study partner who will keep you accountable each day, show you & help you review super high-yield info, and help you fine-tune your test-taking skills. Our program is a supplement to be used alongside your dedicated individualized study.

How Does The 1-on-1 Coaching Work?

The 1-on-1 coaching is an add-on to the main program and is good for daily 1-on-1 sessions (Monday-Friday) for a period of four weeks. If you’d like to get more details about how the 1-on-1 option works, please click HERE to learn more.

Who Will Be Doing The Training?

Dr. Paul will be doing the daily 2-hour sessions. If you add the daily 1-on-1 coaching, you will be working with one of our highly qualified USMLE coaches.

Does The Content Repeat After 4 Weeks?

We work on a 4-week schedule, so we will re-start at the beginning every four weeks.
