If you purchased coaching, you will be eligible to attend the class for an additional four weeks and also receive four additional weeks of coaching sessions as well as an additional session to review your exam and reassess your study plan. Passing Score Guarantee (Step 1 Prep Program) – 2023 program (4 week program) & Individual Coaching (no longer available):

Note: All assessment (NBME, free 120) exams used to determine guarantee eligibility must be unused, online versions, meaning you cannot re-take/re-use an NBME or prior assessment that has already been taken at any time in the past or use an offline PDF version. All NBME/assessments used must be taken for the very first time in order to meet these requirements.

To meet the “Money Back Guarantee” for the Step 1 programs, you must meet the following criteria:

  1.     You must sign the DocuSign agreeing to the terms below. This will be emailed to you following registration in the course.
  2.     You must take an NBME or Free 120 and submit your official score report of the practice exam via email to sara@usmleguys.com. The results from this assessment exam are only valid for one week from the date of the assessment.
  3.     A score of 72% or higher on an NBME or 75% or higher on the Free 120 will qualify for the passing score guarantee. Confirmation of receipt of your assessment score report will be sent by email that you are eligible for the Guarantee.

    • A screenshot of your NBME/prometric account to verify that the NBME was unused.

Passing Score Guarantee Requirements (Step 1 Preparation Program) – 2022 3-week program (no longer available)

Note: All assessment (NBME, free 120) exams used to determine guarantee eligibility must be unused, meaning you cannot re-take/re-use an NBME or prior assessment that has already been taken at any time in the past. All NBME/assessments used must be taken for the very first time in order to meet these requirements (this pertains to part 2: Money back guarantee; you can still qualify for part 1 of our guarantee below whether you’ve used all NBME/assessment exams or not).

There are 2 parts to this program’s guarantee. In order to qualify for each part, see below:

Part 1) The first part of the guarantee allows students who are not yet achieving strong enough assessment scores by the end of their final week in the program to keep attending the daily live questions training and the daily live drill sessions, as well as meet with their coach 1-on-1 one (1) time per week up to six (6) more weeks.

In order to qualify for “Part 1” of the guarantee, the following criteria must be met:

  1. Student has followed the direction of their coach or coaches and taken the requested assessment exams. Students who refuse to take their assessment exam(s) will not qualify to the extension.
  2. Student has not met our recommended assessment exam threshold (~ 75-80% on NBME or free 120 exams). Your coach will let you know if he/she has confidence that you will pass your exam. If they aren’t convinced that you are 100% ready, they will let you know.
  3. If you have no unused NBME assessments: You have not yet met the requirements based on alternative methods of assessment (to be determined by your individual coach).
  4. Student has not missed any of their 1-on-1 sessions with thier coach during the 3-week program (ie. If you didn’t attend all of your coaching sessions, you don’t qualify for free additional sessions).

Part 2) The second part of the guarantee pertains to our passing score money-back guarantee. Students who take their exam but do not pass are eligible for a full refund and are allowed to return for another full 3-week session at their convenience (must be attended within 6 (six) months of failing.

In order to qualify for “Part 2” of the guarantee, the following criteria must be met:

  1. The student must demonstrate that their coach told them that they should take their exam (this can be verified by your coach’s daily email follow-up). Students who take their exam against their coach’s advice do not qualify.
  2. Student must email their exam results to their coach within 14 (fourteen) days of receiving their failing result.
  3. Student used NBME/assessment exams for the first time (ie. Students cannot re-use an NBME or assessment exam taken in the past) and met the required minimum thresholds as determined by their coach (typically 75% on an NBME exam within 1 week of your exam date).

How to claim your passing score guarantee:

If a student meets the criteria above but still fails their exam, simply email us with the following documentation (screenshots or PDFs are ok):

  1. i) The email received from your coach telling you that you can take your Step 1 exam.
  2. ii) The date and result of your USMLE score.

If you met the criteria, and we’ll issue you a full refund and offer you a free 3-week session.

Sessions will expire following the same guidelines under the class policies below based on the new start date.

Class Policies

The following policies apply to Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 3 class and coaching students.

Requests for changes with at least seven (7) days notice will be credited to you, subject to additional administrative fees for repeated changes. A new session must be booked within six (6) months of the class date. (ii) Change of coaching sessions (all programs): When we book sessions, that time is guaranteed to the student. We require a minimum of 24 hours notice of changes to scheduled coaching sessions. We recognize that things do come up from time-to-time, so we will accommodate one (1) last-minute change per student and reschedule at no additional cost and subject to instructor availability. Additional changes to scheduled sessions with less than 24 hours notice will result in that session being forfeited. Sessions will not be refunded or rescheduled.

  • If 10 sessions are purchased, they must be used within four (4) months.

We provide a list of students who require access on Monday morning. Students who register for a session before Monday at 8 AM central will be included in the list and receive access. Students who register after 8 AM on Monday will be included in the following week’s list. No exceptions will be made for earlier access. Once access is granted, it cannot be paused or extended. If you need to pause your program or change your session, additional time will not be granted. This only applies to students who register for coaching. Students who upgrade at a later time to coaching will be provided with access upon registering for coaching sessions.

(v) Amboss Refunds: If you would like to request a refund for Amboss, please email your receipt to Sara@usmleguys.com within 30 days of the end of your class session for Step 1 or within 60 days of your initial coaching session for Step 2 CK and Step 3 coaching. As these are not official lines of communication, promises, guarantees, assurances, etc. will not be honored by the company. Violations of this policy can be reported to Sara@usmleguys.com.

(vii) Changing coaches: We try our best to keep students with one coach throughout their studies. If students request a change, we will do our best to accommodate but cannot make any guarantees. However, we reserve the right to make a change to the coach at any time and for any reason. Refunds will not be provided due to a change in the person providing coaching services to students.
