3 Steps To Fixing Your USMLE Content Weaknesses
Repeating USMLE QBank Mistakes?
Here’s My 3-Step Solution👇
When you’re busting your butt doing USMLE World or Amboss questions, it’s important that you recognize the presence of repeated mistakes.
Repeating the same mistakes over and over is an indication that more attention needs to be put towards that specific topic.
This simple 3-step process is a game-changer when our Step 1 or Step 2 CK coaching students are struggling to overcome this problem ⬇️
STEP 1. KEEP TABS OF PROBLEM AREAS:
Get a notepad and keep a running list of any mistake you make more than once.
Repeated mistakes tells us that you haven’t fixed the underlying weakness.
By keeping a written list of your repeated mistakes, you’ve got an easy way to pinpoint the areas you’ll need to focus on with greater attention to detail.
This list outlines all of the areas that could hurt your results on exam day…
Use it as the foundation for your scheduled ‘weakness fixing’ study sessions.
STEP 2. SCHEDULE TIME TO HIT THE LIST:
While having a list of weaknesses is a great idea, it won’t do you much good if it’s just sitting idly on your desk.
Set aside some time every day, even if just 30-60 minutes, to dive deeper into 1-2 of the topics on your list.
By setting aside some time dedicated specifically to tackling your major weaknesses, you’ll slowly begin to eliminate the topics or subjects most likely to cause you trouble on exam day.
This is a non-negotiable step in the process if you want to make meaningful progress towards a successful exam.
STEP 3. ELIMINATE ONE-BY-ONE:
As you put time & energy into tackling each of the weaknesses on your list AND you see an improvement in those areas while doing questions – cross them off your list.
The goal should be to slowly but consistently eliminate the weaknesses you’re identifying as you do your questions.
💥 Don’t forget to keep reviewing all of your past mistakes as you move forward… This will keep things fresh! 💥
That’s all there is to it!
It looks like this: Find mistakes, document them, spend extra time fixing them.
If you make it a habit to document and address your biggest weaknesses as they’re identified, you’ll notice that your progress remains consistent week over week.
